Discovery Playtime

Discovery Playtime had a website that was not living up to its potential.

The company’s main mission and values of “learning through play” were not at all reflected in its online presence. It lacked the polish and professionalism that their business deserved, plus it wasn’t effectively converting visitors into customers. Mireia, the owner, knew it was time for a change, so she turned to The Roadmap to help her make it happen.

Revamping the website

We set out to create a website design that not only looked great but also provided an enjoyable and seamless user experience. We updated the layout, making it more visually appealing and engaging. We also optimised the website’s speed to ensure it loaded quickly for users and made it responsive on all devices to make it accessible to everyone. We made sure that all the information about the toy shop and its products was clear, concise, and visually easy to find.

Improving the e-commerce features

We added a spinning wheel plugin where people could spin and get a gift with whatever purchase they made on the website. This resulted in a lot of emails being submitted on the website and helped increase sales. Plus, they had a retargeted ads pixel that worked out well and helped bring back old customers.

Adding Optimized Content

We added new pages such as four informative blogs and a frequently asked questions (FAQs) page. By providing more details about their products and services, the keyword-optimised FAQ page helped engage and inform visitors, increasing user satisfaction. Moreover, adding relevant content and the FAQ page gave Google’s algorithm more context, allowing it to better understand the website and improve its search engine ranking.

Retargeted Ads

Retargeted ads use a cookie-based technology that tracks a user’s activity on the internet. Implementing a retargeted ads pixel strategy tailored to Discovery Playtime’s needs, we identified and reached out to customers who had previously shown interest in their products but had not made a purchase.

Before & After Google Rankings

For keywords like “Science Toys Ireland,” they jumped from the 13th position to the impressive 6th spot. Similarly, their ranking for “Water Trays for Children Ireland” skyrocketed from the 46th position to a remarkable 8th place. Additionally, they achieved excellent rankings for “Educational Toys in Ireland” and “Fidget Toys for Kids in Ireland,” moving from 12th to 10th and past 50th to an impressive 14th, respectively.
